Step into history at The Blue Arbor, a beautifully preserved 19th-century colonial home tucked into Ann Arbor's beloved Kerrytown neighborhood. As one of the oldest homes in the city, this historic gem actually predates Ann Arbor's official records — and has been quietly collecting stories ever since.
Throughout its long life, The Blue Arbor has worn many hats. It has served as a single-family home, a duplex, and even a music school where countless students once practiced scales and sonatas within its walls. Today, it's been lovingly restored to its original purpose: a cherished single-family residence — and a one-of-a-kind home away from home for travelers seeking something with real character.
What makes The Blue Arbor so special isn't just its age — it's the personality. Steep staircases, gently crooked floors, and original architectural details give the home a charm you simply can't find in a modern build or cookie-cutter rental. Every creak and corner tells a story. Yet inside, you'll find all the comforts you expect from a luxury vacation rental: four thoughtfully designed bedrooms with premium queen mattresses and fresh linens, a fully stocked kitchen, a curated coffee and tea bar, high-speed Wi-Fi, and elegantly appointed living spaces designed for relaxation.
Outside, a spacious tailgate area with a Blackstone grill makes the home a favorite for University of Michigan game-day weekends, family reunions, girls' getaways, and milestone celebrations. And the location couldn't be better — you're a short stroll from Zingerman's Deli, the boutiques and restaurants of Kerrytown, downtown Ann Arbor, and just a leisurely two-mile walk to the Big House.
The Blue Arbor isn't just a place to sleep. It's a chance to live, even briefly, inside a piece of Ann Arbor history — with all the modern luxuries that make a stay truly unforgettable. We hope you'll fall for her quirks the way we have.

Great location and super clean ! It was the perfect home base for moving our son into the dorms!

We enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect and walkable to the U of M campus. The house was clean and a good size for our group. Karen responded to messages quickly and left us detailed check in instructions, which made the stay easy and enjoyable!

Had a great stay! Will definitely be back

Everything was excellent!! Great amenities, great location, and great space. Rooms are a bit too tight to fit two people, so a heads up that having a maximum of four people is most comfortable. But the double-kitchen, full dining room, and open seating living room are amazing for accommodating a big group comfortably!

To say I've stayed at a lot of air bnb rentals is an understatement, and until now, I thought I'd stayed at the best equipped .... but this place far exceeded that! On top of being absolutely spotless (a big thing for me) the level of thought that they put into equipping it--from plenty of dishes to having a wireless printer available and stocking the fire pit supply box and everything in between--made this a 10 star stay for us. It was my daughter's wedding last weekend and so we used The Blue Arbor as a home base for a lot of activity so its central location was also perfect. I can't recommend it enough. We loved its old house charm combined with modern amenities and adored the fire pit area! Thanks for helping us create memories we'll cherish forever of our 5 days at The Blue Arbor!

A definite find. Thinking about a second stay in 2027.

We had a wonderful time with the family celebrating my daughter’s graduation. The home is beautiful and everything was just as described in the well written notes. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Helpful hosts. Easy driving distance to the hospital. Quirky nice old house with slanted floors in a few rooms. Very steep stairs to upstairs bedrooms, but the kids didn’t care. A comfortable house with great parking and good location
